At the heart of ‘Stori Pen’ there is a small group of dedicated volunteers who have, over the past two years, been busily collecting stories from Pen’s inhabitants, led by local author Liz Ashworth.

The stories will now become the basis for booklets, exhibitions and resource packs for schools – plus anyone else who is interested in the history of Penmaenmawr.

Under Liz’s guidance, the volunteers have also been writing short plays, suitable for schools and community groups, based on the history they have been gathering. Many have also created poetry inspired by the memories they have uncovered.

A printed booklet will also be shortly available in libraries, schools, etc. The ‘Stori Pen’ volunteers are still collecting stories, and welcome anyone who would like to take part, or who has a memory they would like to share. If there is one thing we have learnt over the past two years, it is that there is no such thing as an ‘ordinary’ life!
